Sangita
Dr. R.S. Nandakumar is a renowned Karnāṭaka Music performer, known for innovative concert formats. He composes for theater, Bharatanatyam, and documentaries, and has performed across India, Europe, and the USA on major cultural platforms.
Shastra
A scholar in Indian Musicology and Danceology, Nandakumar has over 30 years of teaching experience. He serves as Professor of Musicology, has authored several books, and regularly contributes to seminars, research journals, and university publications.
Srividya
Nandakumar heads Śrīvidya Gurukula, founded by his guru Śrī Sathyānandanātha. Initiated as Śrīnandānandanātha, he conducts tantric rituals and Śrīvidyā dīkṣa across India, Europe, and the USA. He is currently finalizing a dīkṣāpaddhati for saṅgīta and nāṭya within the tradition.
Indology
Nandakumar leads the ‘Udakṣaram’ project—‘एकस्य मातृकस्य नेत्रपूर्ण (an eyeful of the matrix)’—with Dr. Guido Zanderigo and Śrī Vijay Sārathy. He is preserving a large collection of inherited Indian Musicological manuscripts. A list is available for access.
